Big Rock Partners, an opportunistic real estate investment firm, focuses on all product types nationally.

The firm was created in 2004 and launched as an independent vehicle in 2006 by Richard Ackerman, who previously was the Head of West Coast operations for Apollo Real Estate Advisors ("Apollo"), a global private equity firm with over $7 billion of equity invested. In that role, he was responsible for all investments in the West Coast of the United States and in Japan.

Mr. Ackerman's team joined him in the formation of a joint venture with a $5 billion multi-strategy institutional investment manager, which was the foundation for Big Rock Partners. To date, the fund has managed over $800 million of assets.

During their careers, the firm's principals have acquired, developed, and financed in excess of $10 billion in commercial real estate, and demonstrated their ability to structure complex deals. The principals combined track record of over 50 years in the real estate business includes roles as senior executives of public REITs, investment management firms and private real estate firms.
